Prairie Paws Animal Shelter in Ottawa, KS is super excited to partner with Kris Rotonda from Jordan’s Way to help spread the word about his 100 Miles for Animal Shelter’s Event. He is picking a shelter or two from each state to help him promote his fun event in Central Park in New York City! Super Exciting!

Here’s the scoop on the event: Jordan’s Way Charities, a 501 (c ) 3 organization in Safety Harbor, Florida will be holding a fundraising event in New York City’s Central Park. The event is called 100 Miles for 100 Shelters, and its goal is to raise enough funds to provide food for 100 animal shelters across the United States.

The charity’s founder Kris Rotonda, a former power-lifter, is going to perform a Herculean feat in the park to call attention to his charity and hopefully raise the needed funds. Starting on July 14, 2019 and ending on July 23, 2019 Kris will pull a 250-pound tire 100 miles around the park in repeated laps.

Kris holds a special place in his heart for the plight of shelter animals. He adopted his beloved Jordan from a Tampa shelter 11 years ago. She was one of the unfortunate dogs who had spent her entire life in the shelter system; never knowing stability or life outside of a cage. Jordan lived 11 happy years with Kris until she succumbed to cancer last year.

Visitors to Central Park can witness the tire pull starting on July 14, 2019.

Kris has made it his lifelong goal to provide enough food for shelters, so no animal ever goes hungry. Please help him reach his goal.

Kris is not alone in his mission to provide food for shelter dogs and cats. He has the backing of 113 shelters that are attached to this fundraiser. All the funds received will be distributed evenly among the participating shelters.

One of the biggest challenges animal shelters face other than over-population is feeding and vetting the dogs and cats in their care. Jordan’s Way has partnered with the GoFundMe team in this massive push to raise funds for shelters that need money for food, medicine, vaccinations, and transportation needs. The goal of the week long event is to raise a minimum of $5000 for each of the participating shelters. (Write up used by permission from: #JordansWayNYC
