Please email info@prairiepaws.org to request an application and arrange an appointment to meet the pet. Shady is such a fun and spunky little guy. He does not know a stranger, and welcomes attention from all! He is always ready to play hard but snuggles harder. He loves making doughballs on fleece blankets until he falls asleep. If he is not snuggling up next to you, he is pretty content gazing out the window or door. Shady is a lively, male spunky domestic shorthair cat with an estimated DOB of 04/01/2020. He came to us as a stray and this little man weighed 3.4 lbs at intake. This handsome boy is just waiting to be taken to his forever home so he can start finding the perfect places to play and nap. Do you think your couch is comfy? Don't worry Shady will let you know if it's up to his standards! Shady's adoption fee is $75 and includes a medical exam, sterilization, age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, FeLV testing, and microchip. Be a hero! Adopt! All cats or kittens that are property of Prairie Paws Animal Shelter have been tested for FeLV. All cats and kittens are also up to date on their vaccines and have been or will be spayed or neutered before going to their new homes. Cats and kittens are also litter box trained and microchipped. Adopters get a free consultation at an area vet partner within 14 days of adoption. All information known about this cat has been included in this bio. Per state law, we sterilize all shelter pets before they begin their new fabulous lives with their new families. Our animals change daily, so please check our lists of adoptable dogs and adoptable cats frequently. Once you find an animal you’d like to adopt, the next steps are to complete an application and request a meet and greet with the foster. Make sure to be thorough and help us understand why you’re interested in that particular animal — and why your home is a great fit. Based on your answers we may even have a better fit for you.

Adoption fees: Adoption fees must be paid in full at the time of adoption – no partial payments are accepted. All major credit cards are accepted. Adoption fees vary.

Taking your animal home: The State of Kansas requires that all cats and dogs must be sterilized (spayed/neutered) before going to their new homes. In most cases, animals will have already been sterilized before being placed on the adoption floor and you will be able to take your new companion home with you the day of adoption. However, if the animal is not yet sterilized, they will need to stay at the shelter and we will schedule the surgery on the next available date (usually within a week). All cats must go home in a carrier.
