My name is Lucky Charms. I first arrived with my newborn babies and went into a foster home. I settled in quickly and even took on an extra kitten that didn't have a mom. My foster mom says I had good house manners and was calm and friendly and circled around for pets any chance I could get. I liked to say hello to the humans whenever they were in the room with me, and would ask a few questions about my new place, but once I was familiar with everything, I was pretty quiet. I would still say hi to the humans whenever I saw them of course. I'm very polite. I didn't even react when my foster mom's cat snuck in behind her into my room one day. Although, back at the shelter, I'm not too sure about this little apartment I'm in and all these new people. My foster family visits and talks softly to me until I come out to see them, then I remember I'm not really that shy. I'm getting more confident about exploring the room, and even try to make friends with the other cats through the kennel door. I can't wait to find my new family and have familiar faces to greet every day.

All cats or kittens that are property of Prairie Paws Animal Shelter have been tested for FeLV. All cats and kittens are also up to date on their vaccines and have been or will be spayed or neutered before going to their new homes. Cats and kittens are also litter box trained and microchipped. Adopters get a free consultation at an area vet partner within 14 days of adoption. All information known about this cat has been included in this bio. Per state law, we sterilize all shelter pets before they begin their new fabulous lives with their new families. If you are interested in this animal, please email info@prairiepaws.org for an application.

Our animals change daily, so please check our lists of adoptable dogs and adoptable cats frequently. Once you find an animal you’d like to adopt, the next steps are to complete an application and request a meet and greet with the foster. Make sure to be thorough and help us understand why you’re interested in that particular animal — and why your home is a great fit. Based on your answers we may even have a better fit for you.

Adoption fees: Adoption fees must be paid in full at the time of adoption – no partial payments are accepted. All major credit cards are accepted. Adoption fees vary.

Taking your animal home: The State of Kansas requires that all cats and dogs must be sterilized (spayed/neutered) before going to their new homes. In most cases, animals will have already been sterilized before being placed on the adoption floor and you will be able to take your new companion home with you the day of adoption. However, if the animal is not yet sterilized, they will need to stay at the shelter and we will schedule the surgery on the next available date (usually within a week). All cats must go home in a carrier.
